On 28 June 2007, with the second pick in the NBA Draft, the Seattle SuperSonics selected Kevin Durant from the University of Texas. Durant was in Seattle for only one year before the team moved to Oklahoma City. But that year he put on a show for Sonics fans. He averaged 20.3 points per game, 4.4 rebounds per game and 2.4 assists per game, good enough to earn him Rookie of the Year honors in 2007-08. Durant was the first Sonic to win the ROY award.
